can we lose weight where we want to?
Dear all, I've thought about this so often lately, do you think through EFT we can help losing weight where we want to? I have read that the parts of the body we put on weight mean something. I have put on weight recently and would like to lose weight everywhere except in my breast, unfortunately, my fat is not proportional, I have a small breast but big bum and thighs, I'm not obese just slightly overweight but I dont like my figure. Do you think I could tap to lose weight in bum and thighs and not in breast? When I lose weight that's where I lose straight away :-( Thanks for you advice! Carox

When I lose weight that's where I lose straight away You can tap for the stamina to do exercises for the bum and thighs. Also, you may be interested in Metabolic typing, which I believe works according to where you deposit fat, which can give clues as to which of your organs need the most support. thank you Suzanne! I'd like to follow Ben wilson's programme but it's too expensive for me. It looks really interesting though! I think I'll try relying on myself more and listen to my body, I'll get there eventually! also I have found out I'm a fast oxidizer so I know a low carb diet which indeed suits me best!

Not sure, conventional wisdom says-you can't target certain areas. But, you certainly can tone areas with targeted exercises.
Maybe tap on accepting this body even though I sometimes talk negatively to it. It supports me in my life even if I percieve it as not perfect. My body is always listening to me so, I choose to honor it now and be a better friend to it.

When I lose weight that's where I lose straight away :-( Well, There are specific exercises that you can tap into your meridian field so that you will do the drills that actually enhance the breasts... ...and you can tap into your meridian field to do with persistence the specific exercises that burn fat and tighten the bum and thighs. Pretty simple to do. So it would be a combination of tapping and of "working out" properly. One of my lady clients just lost 20 lbs in all the right places in the last 2 1/2 months by doing the above. You can also.

Hi Carolinejili,
My colleagues have all come up with great ideas suggesting methods that you might use to target certain areas and leave the rest be. However my extensive experience with my own body has taught me that before you do anything drastic, find out why it's so important to you to get your body to be a certain type of shape.
I've struggled with my thighs for years and spent so many decades hating them and resenting myself for having those curves. Since I've made the decision to use and apply EFT on a consistent basis for all my emotional challenges, I no longer feel such disgust toward my thighs.
As a result of achieving a greater level of self acceptance, my body shape is changing and I am no longer obsessed with hating my thighs.
I once read in Louise Hay's book, "You Can Heal Your Life" that issues with the lower body, particularly the thighs stem from anger towards a father figure. I don't know if that's true for you, but it has been true for me. Since I've worked on releasing that anger, I've come to greater peace with my thighs.
I would urge you to consider carefully to determine what's really important to you. I would hate to see you waste as much of your life hating your thighs as I did. If you have any more questions, or need any more support, I'm here to help.

Hi Andrea! Thank you very much for your reply! There are many things I want to say following your message. Firstly, I indeed have big thighs and bum, I was slim as a child and got bigger later, also because I would eat a lot of biscuits etc, I used to compensate with food a lot at an early age. I also have "heal your body" from LH and indeed she says that thighs are linked to a father figure which is more than likely the case for me. From 17 years old I have been dieting a lot to lose weight, it was a real obsession although now looking back I wasnt that big at all, I just had more thighs and bum, they were bigger than the rest of my body but I was ok I guess. And the more I folllowed diets, the more I put on weight, I also became a bit bulimic (but couldnt vomit) and well the fact that I had health issues and had to avoid some food for some periods like gluten etc really helped somehow because i couldnt eat these food and couldnt binge eat anymore except on rice cakes but that didnt appeal to me much lol The prob is that since october, I changed my diet again eating more proteins and well at first I lost much weight but later had binge eating crises again and ate bread again, along with other stuff and then put on more weight than before so basically now I have never weighed so much in my life and I feel so fat. Even my doc said that indeed I weigh way too much for my height. I'm not medically overweight as my bmi is 24 but as I'm very short, the fact that I put on 6 kilos (about 11 lbs i think) is a lot for me. So I have tried to stop the binge eating but I dont know why sthg in my brain does not click. When I tap it gets better but as soon as I stop, it comes back. Yesterday I tapped for a long time again and it helped. I ate healthily and in ok portions today and Im happy about it. And then that's what I wanted to say, I found a video of a woman tapping for the need to lose weight, because like you said I want to accept myself more, to accept my body as it is now, with the extra pounds even if I dont believe I could accept it. Also because I know that as long as I dont accept it, I4ll tend to binge eat more, it's not helping to be stressed about our weight and think we should lose weight to be happy. So now I want to tap for the need to lose weight but I still would like to tap for the boost to do exercises. I can' exercise much because of a chronic illness but I do my best and go to the gym quite often when I feel at my best, I walk mainly and row a bit but I have to admit that I find it hard for me to do exercises in this state. Let's say that if I were slim I wouldnt do it that often and somehow I dont think t's a good reason to force myself. I mean it's good to do exercises because it'll help me get better but I often force myself too much and I'm not sure it's good for me if you know what I mean. Also I have to admit that there are different things I dislike about myself, and as soon as one thing gets better, I'm onto the next one but it's an neverending circle. I find my breast very small and when I put on weight it is fine but as soon as I lose weight, it shrinks and looks horrible because it is not in proportion with the rest of my body because I keep big thighs and bum and then have a tiny breast, I dont like my teeth either and my arms are getting big too, so basically all my body is big except my breast, I hate the thought. But I guess even if I tap to not lose my breast when I lose weight it wont work right? ahah it's not a mircale! Hi Carox,
I am curious, but not in the nosy way, it been some time you started this thread, I gather that you may have some time try a bit of this and that on yourself to help you acheive the weight matter that you are seeking to accomplish. So my question is more if you so far may learned of any thing that may be of some worth mentioning to the list? That is you may have gotten some side effect goods of your trying to get your achievement.
That said, what I was thinking that may allow you to tap or get a hold on to some feeling that may not reveal itself to you through normal EFT protocols. What I had in mind was that you visualize yourself looking how you ideally want to look, and see while scanning over that picture, what feeling come up at what areas, and if any come up on an one, connect and tap on it. Accourse design a tapping session that address the root and core moment that this feeling first came upon your body, and at that precise moment, release all feelings, emotions, beliefs, ideals, guilts, and what role you may played in this happening, and too what you think may be cause of things being as they are.
Yes, I think what you are seeking to accomplish, is do able, but EFT wise the key is how best to access those energies and feelings in way to release them fom your body.

Hello Harry, No, unfortunately I havent really tackled the problem yet as I have been tapping on other issues recently. But I really think that it can work. Also, tapping on our body parts sounds good but I would tap on mybody parts as they look now and not on how I want them to look because all the fat in my thighs represents sthg and by looking at them in the mirror and feeling what it means inside me and then tapping on it could let the emotions go. Louise Hay says in her books that fat in thighs represents anger towards the dad or male figure which is true in my case. Also,I am reading a book explaining the link between food and our lives and it is so interesting, they tell the stoy of the girl who has big thighs and that it is actually the things in her life that she can't change, a kind of stagnation and when she takes care of her legs, massage them, bring them to life, their shape changes, so much that her mum thinks she had surgery to reshape them! The body reflects the life and emotions we're living, that I know for sure now BUT changing this is sthg ese! I have so much to tap on that I end up not tapping at all because I feel discouraged to be honest. But I know I'll resume tapping again and it'll be fine! Also to my biggest joy, Robert Smith is coming to my country for a seminar next weekend and of course I4ll go! I know it'll help me too and give me the courgae to go on with it! Caroxx

Yes, you can. But you must use machines to lose your weight partly. And your diet, exercise take an important role in your lose weight process. Hope you get effect soon!

Hi Caro, I've been able to lose weight (around 30 pounds) and keep it off. Here's how I did it and continue to do it. Maybe you will find something helpful here. Use what works for you and let the rest go... AWARENESS (food + emotions) +Gratitude Diet + Imagining w/feelings Ideal Body + behaviors appropriate for Ideal Body + loving/accepting my body
Awareness: how I am around foods what happens when I eat certain foods what am I feeling...how it relates with food and eating become aware of eating patterns when did patterns start (can use EFT to clear the charge around old patterns) when do I eat what vibes am I putting in to eating and my body how am I feeling? how am I with food/eating when I feel: angry depressed bored lonely annoyed _____________________________(fill in the blank)
what am I asking food to give me?
happiness comfort protection friendship adventure _____________________________(fill in the blank)

Caro, I don't think I addressed the part about losing weight in specific areas. I'm not sure about being able to lose in specific parts. However, since I have been willing to accept my body even the parts that I have been so critical of. That has made a huge difference. This is another part about loving/accepting my body. When I was a teen, I was told that my breasts were small. I learned to feel ashamed of my small breasts. When I gained weight, they got bigger. My breasts were much larger when I weight 30 pounds more than now. I had to let that be OK. To accept my breasts the way they are and also letting it be OK for them to get smaller as I lost weight. It is much easier to see the advantage of smaller breasts~in fact, it is good to remember what the advantages are.
Who told you that your breasts were too small? Who did you believe? What would happen if you accepted your breasts being small? What would that mean?
Each person is a unique individual. If you can learn to accept your own uniqueness it will make your life so much easier. You will be able to take the energy that you've been using to put yourself down and do other things with that energy. Have you seen the I Love My Body Club? JoAnn

thank you for your replies! Well I cant do much exercise at the moment because of the fatigue but I walk a lot which is a start at least and I do the homolateral crossover which is exercise too (i mean lifting ur amrs and legs like that several times a day is exercise!) I would address more the diet and why I eat as Joan pointed out, at least for now. I know that even if I do exercise, I wont get results until I address my emotions because what I have to resolve are these, and the reasons why I eat too much. I havent had binge eating crises for a little while now which is really good but I still tend to overeat, so eat when not hungry and well I know why but find it hard to get rid of this habit. Robert Smith explains this so well when he says that being overweight is not an issue, it is a success as we have all these programmes inside of us that make us fat and they work! so if we want to loose weight, we must get rid of these programmes, which makes sense, doesn it? like: eating because i'm with friends who eat, eating because I feel comfort or love when I do eating because I'm bored eating because i'm anrgy or sad eating because i have to finish my plate eating because it's time to eat and I'm used to eat now eating because it fills sthg inside me I cant fill otherwise eating because i feel exhausted
etc etc and I know I'll get there but god knows how hard it is because there are so many reasons why I overeat! and it's been there since childhood BUT i have also noticed that I tend to think that i takes a while for problems to shift, because they've been there for ages BUT why do I believe this? i could also believe that they can shift in a few days, I mean this could be real right? I guess it is real for those who think it is real or is there a kind of reference for everyone? dunno.. anyway today I'll eat when and only when hungry! have a lovely day all! carox
