EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

Has anybody heard of Meta-Medicine?

This has become an interesting post. I have another question - if someone using eft cured someone's type 2 diabetes for example, that should mean that they will go into the conflict resolution phase according to MM. Is this true with all eft working with disease? I have only heard about it in MM.

    Hello Sebwallace,

There are many therapies/tools that mention "Healing crisis" as a normal occurence.  In EFT, we see it as resistance or PR...A flairup of symptoms can be a clearing of toxins, etc...and that's where awareness is important, as an increase in symptoms can be interpreted as a worsening of the condition.  It is best to keep tapping for acceptance and peace and not to build another story....

Thanks Fabienne, I was curious because my sister is diabetic (type 1) and has been for twenty two years. Her sugar levels and control have not been stable recently and it is taking a toll on her health. This is not a new situation either. In considering EFT to bring back that control, I was alarmed at the 'healing crisis' and how that could affect her.

Is there anything that could be recommend in helping my sister?

    Great gratitude, SW

It is difficult to give you advice for your sister.  I have not worked with this condition.

When did her diabetes start? How old was she and what was happening in her life then?

What happened in your mother's life when she was carrying your sister?

What is happening now that makes her sugar levels fluctuate?

In Deb Shapiro's book, Healing Mind Healing Body, she says diabetes is an inability to regulate sweetness in one's life, sweetness can be love, too much love (sugar), no ability to process it (insulin), love in and out, love others and oneself....I would start tapping on how she feels now.

    Thank you.

She had a lot of emotional distress while she was younger based on her relationship with our biological farther who manipulated her against our mother (I was on born at this time). So the metaphorical parallels seem to work with what you suggested.

I have read several META-Medicine books (see http://www.metamedicine.info/store.php) and they all quote sources which include Dr. Hamer and other amazing experts in mindbody medicine, energy psychology, NLP, integrative medicine. META-Medicine seems to be a much more advanced, open and modern model that not only focuses on "biological diagnostics" but includes energetic and spiritual aspects. It also is based on an integrative medicine approach accepting all forms of therapy and healing. It is just absolutely irresponsible to tell a patient to solve a conflict (e.g. going through a healing process) without using any forms of therapy. And the controversy around Dr. Hamer is understandable. As much as he should be honored for his initial findings (which were around 1970) but on the other hand he is paranoid and extremely negative and did upsets everyone (in his opinion doctors are murderers, EFT, NLP and other energy psychology methods do more harm than good, and so on...). And next to that, it is absolutely unacceptable to bring in racist and psychopathic beliefs and comments. He is doing more harm to himself than anyone else does. In any case, isn't it about opening up new research and findings so patients can benefit. I am all for organizations to bring light into darkness. David

David, I find it interesting that many people seem to feel the need to villify Dr Hamer to justify other things. I have a lot of respect and admiration for Dr Joseph Mercola who has several references to Dr Hamer and GNM on his site. That speaks for itself for me and many others. Dr Hamer's personality doesn't come into it.
